Ripple and Aviva Investors Unite to Tokenize Funds on the XRP Ledger

A new collaboration signals a strategic shift as Ripple teams up with Aviva Investors, the asset-management arm of Britain's Aviva, to bring traditional fund structures onto the XRP Ledger. At the core of the plan lies the tokenization of conventional funds on XRPL, aiming to modernize how these assets are managed and traded.

The alliance marks a turning point for both parties. For Ripple, it represents their first significant collaboration with a major European investment manager. For Aviva Investors, the objective is to accelerate the adoption of on-chain fund structures. The announcement came during XRP Community Day 2026, where Ripple’s leadership made clear that institutional acceptance is the primary focus for the year. The XRP Ledger is being positioned not merely as a payments network but as a core infrastructure for regulated financial products.

On-chain activity accelerates

The strategic pivot is already reflected in on-chain metrics. Circling February 12, activity on the network surged, with CryptoQuant data showing the number of active addresses nearly doubling—from roughly 17,000 to over 32,700. This uptick in activity accompanies a price move, as XRP advanced about 16% on a weekly basis despite a touch of profit-taking on Friday. Market participants appear to reward XRPL’s positioning in the Real-World Assets (RWA) space, where current data suggest the ledger’s footprint in the total volume of tokenized assets (excluding stablecoins) has surpassed Solana.

From experiment to production

The Aviva Investors collaboration underscores Ripple’s longer-term ambition: to embed XRP deeply within the global financial system. The emphasis shifts away from pure retail use cases toward more enterprise-oriented solutions. By issuing and managing tokenized funds on a public blockchain, Ripple aims to move the technology from an experimental phase into large-scale production, closing the gap between traditional finance and blockchain-enabled ecosystems.
