The Australian exploration firm Gorilla Gold Mines is ramping up its operational tempo. Following an intensive previous year, the company has outlined plans for a significant expansion of its drilling activities in Western Australia, targeting 2026. This ambitious growth trajectory raises questions about whether the current resource base can support such objectives.

Financial Backing and Strategic Focus

Financially, the company is supported by a capital raise completed in October of last year, which provided the necessary funding for its extensive exploration agenda. A key event for shareholders is scheduled for April 7th, when an extraordinary general meeting in Perth will deliberate on strategic details for the forward plan.

The core of the development strategy centers on the Comet Vale project, which hosts a resource of 0.86 million ounces of gold. The management's focus for the current year is a consistent exploration approach across its key assets: Comet Vale, Mulwarrie, and Vivien Gold.

Aggressive Drilling Campaign Underway

The company has scheduled approximately 150,000 meters of drilling across these core projects. This planned meterage surpasses the previous year's program, which saw 120,000 meters drilled. These activities are deemed critical for expanding the firm's total current resource base of 1.5 million ounces of gold and for further defining the projects.

The results from this 150,000-meter campaign will form the foundation for the next resource update in the coming months. Furthermore, pending the smooth progression of permitting processes, initial dewatering work could commence at one of the sites before the end of the year.
