Revenue growth meets a weaker profit line
Alphabet reported USD 127.577 billion in third-quarter revenue, up 25 percent from USD 102.346 billion a year earlier. Operating income rose 30 percent to USD 40.576 billion, while operating margin was 31.8 percent. Net income available to common stockholders fell to USD 26.170 billion from USD 34.979 billion, and diluted earnings per share declined to USD 2.12 from USD 2.87.
The earnings mix was affected by an USD 8.664 billion loss on equity securities in the quarter. Alphabet said that item reduced net income by USD 6.7 billion and diluted earnings per share by USD 0.55, separating the reported profit decline from the operating result.
What does Cloud growth mean for margins?
Google Cloud revenue increased 103 percent year over year to USD 30.709 billion in the third quarter of 2026. Cloud operating income reached USD 11.121 billion, compared with USD 3.594 billion a year earlier, while total company operating income reached USD 40.576 billion.
Alphabet's filing also shows USD 51.355 billion of capital spending in the quarter and USD 9.065 billion of negative free cash flow. That combination gives investors a sharper measure of the investment burden than revenue growth alone.
Two dividend dates follow
Alphabet's filing states that the company's USD 0.22 common-stock dividend is payable on December 14, 2026, to holders of record on December 7, 2026. The same release gives November 1, 2026 as the record date for the company's mandatory convertible preferred-stock dividend, payable on November 15, 2026.
Stock reacts after the release
The current euro quotation puts Alphabet 8.74 percent below the EUR 287.25 Xetra close of October 28, 2026. The market picture therefore combines 25 percent revenue growth with a lower quarterly profit and negative free cash flow.
