NEMR comedy event comes to The Pearl on 28 October
Visit Qatar lists NEMR: A Brand New Stand-up Comedy Global Event for 28 October 2026 at Marsa Malaz Kempinski Hotel, The Pearl - Doha. The event is categorised as a lifestyle attraction in Qatar's published calendar, while the Palazzo Ballroom is identified as the performance venue by the event listing for NEMR.
The programme centres on stand-up comedy by NEMR, whose event description identifies him as a Lebanese-American comedian. A separate October calendar report also places NEMR's Brand New Stand-up Comedy Global Event at Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl - Doha, on 28 October 2026. The date is therefore tied to the venue on the island rather than to a general Doha programme.
The Pearl setting connects comedy with a mixed-use island
The Pearl is a man-made island development managed by United Development Company. It sits 350 metres offshore from Doha's West Bay district and combines residential, retail, hospitality and entertainment uses, according to the developer's profile of The Pearl Island.
UDC records May 2004 as the project's start date and describes the island as covering 4 million square metres of reclaimed land. It is divided into ten precincts, including Porto Arabia, Qanat Quartier and Medina Centrale. The NEMR date adds a ticketed comedy performance to a destination whose districts already combine homes, public spaces, shops, hotels and leisure venues.
Porto Arabia gives the island one of its clearest public-facing waterfront areas. The developer describes its La Croisette concourse as a 2.5-kilometre pedestrianised retail walkway, while Qanat Quartier is arranged around canals, bridges, plazas and pedestrian-friendly spaces. The comedy venue is in the Marsa Malaz precinct, so the event is located within the island's hospitality and entertainment landscape rather than at one of its open-air waterfront districts.
What the 28 October programme means for visitors
The event listing identifies the Palazzo Ballroom at Marsa Malaz Kempinski as the venue. The public calendar does not state that the wider island or its districts will close, so the confirmed change for travellers is the addition of a scheduled comedy performance on 28 October 2026.
