Willie Nelson and Brandon Coleman released a new version of Pretty Paper on 6 November 2026. The holiday single pairs Nelson with the singer from The Red Clay Strays for a fresh recording of the seasonal song.
Pretty Paper gives Willie Nelson a new holiday duet
The track is a one-song single credited to Willie Nelson and The Red Clay Strays. It presents a new version of the seasonal song rather than a new composition. The release keeps the familiar holiday identity of Pretty Paper while adding Coleman’s voice to the performance.
Nelson supplies fresh vocals and opens the recording. Coleman enters about a minute into the track, giving the arrangement a second vocal presence. The instrumental carries a stronger country flavour, while the performance remains shaped around the holiday song. The new single pairs the two performers in a collaboration for the seasonal period.
How the new recording frames the classic Pretty Paper
The release is built around a clear handover between the two voices. Nelson begins the performance, then Coleman takes a later entrance rather than appearing as a separate supporting name.
A visualiser accompanies the new take, and the track is presented for the holiday season. That combination gives the release two distinct elements: a newly recorded vocal performance and a visual presentation for the same song.
Willie Nelson has another release dated 10 November
A separate release by Nelson is a book rather than another recording. The Last Leaf: Reflections on Late-Life Creativity - and My Longest Love Affair is scheduled for release on 10 November 2026, four days after Pretty Paper.
The book and single are distinct releases: one is a written work, and the other is a new recording. For the music release, the defining pairing remains Nelson’s voice with Coleman’s contribution to the updated holiday song.
