A Different Kind of Truth returns in two physical formats
Rhino’s release details describe the edition as a return to print on CD and as a 2LP set pressed on 180-gram vinyl. The 2LP package uses a double gatefold design, while a limited crystal-clear pressing was designated for participating independent record stores and Rhino.com. The lacquers were cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering.
The 2LP track listing contains 13 songs. It includes Tattoo, She’s The Woman, You And Your Blues, China Town, Blood And Fire, Bullethead, As Is, Honeybabysweetiedoll, The Trouble With Never, Outta Space, Stay Frosty, Big River and Beats Workin’.
Van Halen’s final studio album features Roth and three members
Rhino says the band formed in Los Angeles and names Eddie, Alex and Wolfgang Van Halen among the musicians featured on the album. David Lee Roth is identified as the singer, placing the reissue within the band’s Roth-led studio period.
That combination gives the physical release a direct link to the final studio line-up named in the label’s announcement. The announcement also describes the album as the first original studio album with Roth since the band’s classic earlier work. The CD and vinyl formats were also detailed by 95.1 Steve FM.
