Carnaval De Luz brings 12 new songs from U2
Universal Music’s listing gives 13 November 2026 as the release date and names Carnaval De Luz as U2’s 16th studio album. The page also credits Jacknife Lee as producer and identifies Silencio as the album’s first single. Universal Music’s listing carries the release details.
The album is U2’s first full-length project of new material in nine years, a distinction outlined in NME album details. Its 12-song format places the new record at the centre of the band’s anniversary-year output.
U2’s four-member line-up behind Carnaval De Luz
U2 are an Irish rock band formed in Dublin, with Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. as the current four-member line-up. A BBC history of U2 records the group’s Dublin origin and continuing membership.
The new album is a studio project of original material rather than a collection of re-recordings such as Songs Of Surrender. The pairing of that established quartet with a new 12-song set gives Carnaval De Luz a distinct place in the band’s catalogue.
Carnaval De Luz spans vinyl, CD and Blu-ray formats
Universal Music’s catalogue includes standard black vinyl, dark blue marble vinyl, standard CD, limited cassette and limited Blu-ray editions. It also lists deluxe vinyl and CD box sets for the same 13 November 2026 release.
The album’s credited contributors include Brian Eno, Martin Garrix, Daniel Lanois and Ryan Tedder. The final track, Torn, is a duet between Bono and Dolly Parton.
