U2 carry a Dublin band’s four-member identity forward

U2 are an Irish rock band formed in Dublin, with Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. making up the current line-up. The quartet met at school and began the group together.

The nine-year gap gives Carnaval De Luz a clear place in the band’s catalogue: it is a return to a full studio statement rather than another single or short release. That link between the album’s scale and U2’s long-established four-piece format is reflected in the 12-song presentation and the range of physical editions.

Jacknife Lee produced U2’s 12-song album

The album is produced by Jacknife Lee and contains 12 songs. Its listed programme includes Street of Dreams and Silencio, while the final track Torn features Dolly Parton.
