Prince’s 3121 Expanded Edition arrives on 11 December 2026, with NPG Records and the Prince Estate presenting digital, 3LP plus Blu-ray and 2CD plus Blu-ray formats. The package extends the original album with archive recordings and concert material.
Prince’s 3121 Expanded Edition adds ten archive recordings
The edition keeps the original 3121 album at its centre and adds ten further recordings from the Prince archive. The additional material includes Time of Ur Life, The Streets of Panama and Another Girl, alongside acoustic versions of existing album material.
The 3LP release details give the physical edition an 11 December 2026 release date. The format announcement also names a digital edition and a 2CD plus Blu-ray version.
Prince’s archive blends pop, rock, soul and funk
Prince’s catalogue is represented here through an album that moves across funk, soul, rock and pop, a blend reflected in the label description. The expanded format joins that range to previously unreleased material and live footage, giving the package two distinct archival strands.
That pairing is specific to Prince’s project: the original album remains the foundation, while the estate and NPG Records extend it with recordings and film from the same era. The result connects the familiar album programme with material drawn from the vault and the stage.
3121 Las Vegas Live extends the Prince release cycle
The release programme also includes 3121 Las Vegas Live, due on 27 November 2026 for Record Store Day Black Friday. It is planned as crystal-blue three-LP vinyl and a two-CD edition, separate from the expanded album’s physical sets.
Together, the two releases present the studio album, vault recordings and concert material in separate formats. The expanded edition’s Blu-ray adds a complete Las Vegas concert film and three music videos.
