Judas Priest will release the Sad Wings of Destiny Remixed & Remastered edition on 27 November 2026. The physical anniversary release will appear on CD and vinyl through Exciter Records.
Judas Priest set two Sad Wings editions for November
The release expands the anniversary treatment of Sad Wings of Destiny with a newly created mix from the original multitrack recordings. Exciter Records’ release details identify Tom Allom as producer, with Luie Stylianou mixing and Matt Colton mastering.
The physical edition will be available as a 45 RPM, 180g double LP on black vinyl and as a CD in a modern digipak. Both formats include a newly remixed version of Diamonds and Rust as a bonus track, while the vinyl is mastered at half-speed.
Judas Priest connect the reissue to their early sound
Sad Wings of Destiny occupies an important place in the band’s development. Its twin-guitar writing, soaring vocals and extended compositions helped establish the heavy-metal language that Judas Priest would carry into later work.
The reissue also returns the record to the sequence intended by the band. Blabbermouth’s edition overview describes the project as part of a wider anniversary presentation created in partnership with Judas Priest and Exciter Records.
The Remixed & Remastered edition preserves the sequence
The published track order begins with Prelude and continues through Tyrant, Genocide, Epitaph and Island of Domination. The second half contains Victim of Changes, The Ripper, Dreamer Deceiver, Deceiver and Diamonds and Rust.
The arrangement keeps the album’s original shape while presenting the recordings in a new mix. The CD and double LP therefore share the same central programme, with the bonus recording included in both physical formats.
