John Legend’s Muse reaches Republic Records on 23 October

The studio album is scheduled for release on 23 October 2026 through Republic Records. The Universal Music Canada announcement identifies Pharrell Williams as the record’s full producer and co-writer.

The same announcement names Daylight as the lead single. It places the track alongside Pray For Ya, Her, Get Back, Are You OK?, Bodies on the Floor and Fireflies in the album’s 16-track sequence.

John Legend’s catalogue runs from Get Lifted to My Favorite Dream

John Legend works as a singer, songwriter, pianist and producer. His catalogue includes Get Lifted, Once Again, Evolver, Wake Up!, Love in the Future, Darkness and Light, A Legendary Christmas, Bigger Love, LEGEND and My Favorite Dream.

That catalogue gives Muse a clear musical position: it extends a piano-led identity into a fully Pharrell-produced set. The album’s combination of R&B, soul, gospel and hip-hop also connects its new material with the styles associated with Legend’s work.

Muse connects John Legend’s voice with Pharrell Williams

The project took shape after Legend appeared on Clipse’s comeback album, where his vocal prompted Pharrell Williams to build a larger project around that voice. A uDiscover account of the album describes the collaboration as a meeting of cinematic and contemporary production.

The tracklist gives the record several distinct entry points. Her draws on doo-wop and gospel, Get Back features Pharrell Williams, and Bodies on the Floor features Clipse, while Are You OK? adds another relationship-focused song to the set.
