Gorillaz connect a festival appearance with The Mountain
AllMusic identifies Gorillaz as formed in London in 1998 by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, with a sound that blends Brit-pop and hip-hop. Its biographical overview also describes a revolving cast of collaborators around Albarn and Hewlett.
The debut Gorillaz arrived in 2001, followed by Demon Days in 2005 and Plastic Beach in 2010. Later albums included Humanz in 2017, The Now Now in 2018, Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez in 2020, Cracker Island in 2023 and The Mountain in 2026. That catalogue places the Mexico City festival appearance alongside the project’s latest studio work.
