Florence + The Machine perform at the 2026 Mercury Prize in Newcastle on 22 October 2026. The band take the stage at Utilita Arena Newcastle as part of an awards show centred on shortlisted albums.
Mercury Prize performance takes place in Newcastle
Florence + The Machine perform one track from their Album of the Year at the ceremony. The programme culminates in the announcement of the overall winner of the 2026 Mercury Prize.
An official performance announcement names the band among the artists taking the stage. It places the performance at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena on 22 October 2026 and says each artist performs one track from the album represented in the shortlist.
BBC Music is the prize’s broadcast partner for the awards show. The wider 2026 ceremony programme includes live music events, listening sessions, screenings, workshops and talks in Newcastle through 22 October 2026.
Everybody Scream enters the Mercury Prize shortlist
The performance connects the band’s stage appearance with Everybody Scream, the album represented in the Mercury Prize shortlist. NME’s shortlist details also identify Florence + The Machine as one of the artists performing in Newcastle. That pairing gives the act two roles in one evening: live performer and shortlisted album artist.
The Mercury Prize centres on album-length work and recognises artistic achievement across contemporary British and Irish music. Florence + The Machine’s nomination places Everybody Scream within that album-focused programme. The official programme also includes performances by Dove Ellis, JADE, Knats, Kojey Radical, Nia Archives, Olivia Dean, RAYE, Suede and Pulp. This keeps the band’s performance tied to the album rather than presenting it as a separate booking.
