Duran Duran’s Birmingham roots meet its current quartet
Duran Duran’s Birmingham origins connect the Cologne appearance with the band’s place in the New Romantic and New Wave tradition. Its core live line-up comprises Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor.
That quartet gives the concert a direct link between the band’s beginnings and its present arena format. The Cologne programme placed familiar material such as Rio, Hungry Like the Wolf, Save a Prayer and Ordinary World alongside newer songs.

Free To Love was created with Nile Rodgers and appeared alongside the group’s established songs in Cologne. The programme also included Invisible and Lonely in Your Nightmare, moving between newer material and long-standing favourites.
