Strummingbird brings Dexter and The Moonrocks to Newcastle
The New South Wales Government lists Strummingbird as a festival at 32 Wharf Road, Newcastle East, with the programme running from 12pm to 11pm local time. Its Newcastle event details name Dexter and the Moonrocks alongside Bailey Zimmerman, Tyler Childers, Cooper Alan and Stella Lefty.
The festival’s Foreshore Park listing places the Newcastle programme at the venue and identifies the band in its line-up. That setting puts the Texas quartet inside a country-focused bill while retaining the group’s alternative-rock billing.
Dexter and The Moonrocks frame the festival around debut
The band’s debut full-length, Friends That I Don’t Like, was released through Severance Records and Big Loud Rock. Its track list includes Freakin’ Out, It’s A Lot and 12 Steps, with Treaty Oak Revival appearing on the latter.
Why Don’t You Say So also pairs the group with Avery Anna. The debut album details place those collaborations within the band’s first full-length project. The connection places the band’s alternative-rock catalogue inside Strummingbird’s country programme.
