Bebe Rexha’s Toronto honour and the Global Hitmaker Award
Billboard Canada has named her among the ceremony’s honourees, with the Global Hitmaker Award recognising her cross-genre chart work. The event returns to Rebel in Toronto for a celebration of artists, songwriters and music-industry figures.
Billboard Canada’s event listing confirms the 24 November date and Rebel location, while its programme identifies Bebe Rexha as the Global Hitmaker honouree. The presentation places her among performers and recipients at the same Toronto ceremony.
Bebe Rexha’s catalogue spans the styles named by Billboard Canada
Her music has moved between pop, dance, EDM, hip-hop, country and R&B, a range reflected in the Global Hitmaker wording. That breadth connects the honour to her work as a songwriter, not only to her solo releases.
The ceremony’s description presents her as both an artist and a writer. Her collaborations with David Guetta form part of the Canadian chart history cited by Billboard Canada, while the award recognises the wider body of work behind those successes.
Dirty Blonde connects the award to her independent work
The current phase of her catalogue centres on the visual album Dirty Blonde, released through EMPIRE. The project combines pop and electronic textures with hip-hop, country and Jersey club, according to the ceremony programme.
Billboard Canada says Dirty Blonde topped the Billboard Top Dance Albums chart, while New Religion and Sad Girls reached the top of Billboard Dance Airplay. That album connection gives the Toronto honour a direct link to her independent work.
