A two?day classroom course costing 295 euros is the latest option for German companies scrambling to meet legal requirements for checking ladders and step stools. The seminar, offered by CQ Beratung+Bildung GmbH at its Sankt Augustin site in late July 2026, trains so?called "befähigte Personen" – qualified individuals who can assess climbing equipment against the DGUV Information 208?016 standard and the national Betriebssicherheitsverordnung (Occupational Health and Safety Ordinance). Equipment manufacturer KRAUSE Systems also runs its own training for the Technical Rules for Operational Safety (TRBS 2121 Part 2).

Many firms are turning to external service providers to handle the inspections. Arbeitssicherheit Verstegen covers ladders, rolling scaffolds and fall?protection gear across the Rhine?Ruhr region. For nationwide coverage, BG prevent deploys more than 3,700 safety experts from 150 locations. The growing demand reflects a broader trend: companies are investing in both human oversight and technology to reduce accident numbers involving climbing equipment.

Construction sites face additional rules. The RAB 30 regulation requires designated safety and health coordinators (SiGeKo). Training courses for this role are available in late autumn 2026 at a cost of 1,990 euros. Earlier, starting in late June, seminars on road?construction safety under the RSA 21 standard begin.

Artificial intelligence is entering the field without replacing people. The Berufsgenossenschaft BG ETEM stated in early June 2026 that AI can support routine tasks such as risk assessments, safety briefings and documentation management. The trade association provides digital assistants and an AI?powered service portal, but emphasises that legal responsibility remains with human workers – the technology only supplies templates and records.

As more companies turn to digital tools for risk management, having the right documentation in place is essential. A free Risk Assessment Toolkit offers 41 ready-to-use templates, checklists, and training materials that can help you document hazards efficiently and stay on top of compliance requirements. Parallel to equipment checks, demand is rising for safety officers under § 22 of the Sozialgesetzbuch VII. These officers act as a bridge between staff and management. Help First Akademie is offering two?day live webinars in summer and autumn 2026; the basic training according to DGUV V1 costs 499 euros plus value?added tax.

The combination of certified hardware, qualified inspectors and digital helpers is intended to drive a lasting reduction in ladder?related workplace accidents across Germany.
