Germany’s annual DAK Präventionsradar for 2024 has delivered a stark warning for parents: one in four school-age children now reports suffering from back pain every week. The figure climbs sharply with digital habits. According to the data, each additional hour spent in front of a monitor increases the likelihood of developing spinal discomfort by roughly 26 percent.

The findings are amplifying demand for child-friendly ergonomic solutions just as several international discount platforms expand into Germany. Among the newcomers is DealsMondo.com, a portal aggregating voucher codes and limited-time offers, targeting home-office users who want cheaper access to height-adjustable desks, supportive chairs, and other workplace aids. The Dutch manufacturer Desktronic, for example, now offers a 25 percent discount via the code DUTCHREVIEW25 on its range of standing desks, monitor arms, and cable management systems.

The Aktion Gesunder Rücken (AGR), a German certification body for back-friendly products, recommends that households invest in height-adjustable furniture and active seating surfaces. It also advises parents to ensure school backpacks weigh no more than 17 to 20 percent of the child’s body weight. Products carrying the AGR seal have been tested and are considered spine-safe.

On the hardware front, the market for ergonomic office gear shows a broad price range this July. Ergotopia’s Desktopia One leads the desk category at a starting price of 399 euros. For chairs, the Stiftung Warentest test winner in the under-400-euro bracket is the Trendoffice to-Strike. Higher-end options include the Ergohuman, available for up to 850 euros, and the Interstuhl Every, priced up to 600 euros.

Technical peripherals are also seeing new releases. ViewSonic has introduced a 27-inch 4K monitor, model VG2719U-4K, selling for 309 euros. It includes a built-in USB-C docking station delivering 96 watts of power delivery and a height adjustment range of 150 millimetres. In the input-device segment, the Glorious Model O Wireless gaming mouse is offered in a special promotion until July 5 at 46.90 euros. Noise-cancelling headphones, such as the Sony WH-1000XM5, can be obtained with codes like POWEREBAY6 for around 179 euros.

Beyond permanent discounts, several short-term summer campaigns are shaping the retail landscape. Amazon continues to offer reductions of up to 83 percent across multiple product categories following its major sales days. Otto is running discounted conditions on tech and household items in July, with shipping costs reduced through its loyalty programme. In fashion, eBay is applying a 20 percent discount on business clothing until July 8 using the code FASHIONSALE20.
