Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union on the alignment of certain third countries with Council Decision 2024 / 3154 concerning restrictive measures in view of activities undermining the stability and political transitio

BRUSSELS, 10 January 2025 / PRN Africa / -- On 16 December 2024, the Council adopted Council Decision (CFSP) 2024/31541.

The Council has decided that four individuals should be included in the list of natural and legal persons, entities and bodies set out in the Annex to Decision (CFSP) 2023/2135, in view of the gravity of the situation in Sudan, where continuous fighting is ongoing between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Republic of Moldova, Serbia and Ukraine align themselves with this Council Decision.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.

The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
