Institutional Ambition: Evernorth's Planned $1 Billion Treasury

A significant development for institutional XRP adoption occurred on March 18. Evernorth Holdings Inc. filed an S-4 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), a key procedural step for its intended merger with Arrington Capital-sponsored special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), Armada Acquisition Corp. II. The transaction carries a valuation exceeding $1 billion, with the combined entity expected to list on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker symbol XRPN.

Post-merger, the company plans to hold an estimated 473.1 million XRP tokens in its treasury. A portion of this, 126.8 million XRP, is slated to come directly from Ripple. Evernorth distinguishes its strategy from a passive exchange-traded fund (ETF) by planning active deployment of this capital. Its stated objectives include participation in decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, institutional lending, and providing liquidity directly on the XRP Ledger. Notable backers of this initiative include SBI Holdings, Pantera Capital, and the Kraken exchange.

Ripple Issues Alert Over Escalating Telegram Scams

Amid this institutional progress, RippleX, the development division of Ripple, alerted its community on March 21 to a growing wave of fraudulent activity on the Telegram messaging platform. Scammers are creating accounts that impersonate Ripple employees, recruiters, and support staff to promote fake giveaways and phishing campaigns. The company explicitly stated that it does not operate any official Telegram channels and advised users to verify all communications exclusively through its verified official channels.

Despite these security concerns, network growth metrics remain positive. The number of distinct wallet holders on the XRP Ledger has surpassed 7.7 million. Furthermore, earlier this week, the network's token burn rate hit its highest level so far in 2026, with 2,491 XRP permanently removed from circulation within a 24-hour period.

Price Action Awaits Regulatory Catalyst on ETFs

XRP's price is currently trading just above $1.40, exhibiting a sideways pattern over recent days. The market is still digesting the joint classification of XRP as a digital commodity by both the SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on March 17. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) sits near 50, indicating a neutral momentum signal without a clear directional bias.

Attention now turns to March 27 as the next potential catalyst. This date marks the SEC's deadline for a decision on a spot XRP ETF application.
