Tuya’s Strategic Pivot: AIoT Integration Drives Financial Efficiency
04.02.2026 - 21:42:04As 2026 unfolds, Tuya Inc. (NYSE: TUYA) is intensifying its strategic focus on the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) sector. The company aims to position its platform as the core ecosystem for connected smart devices through new product launches and key partnerships. A central question for investors is whether this dedicated AI push can sustainably reinvigorate the firm's recent pattern of modest revenue expansion.
The company's latest financial results underscore a significant shift toward improved profitability. For the third quarter of 2025, Tuya reported revenue of $82.5 million. While this represented a year-over-year increase of 1.1%, the more compelling story was on the cost side. Operational expenses were slashed by 34.1%, a move that propelled operating cash flow upward by over 25% to $30 million. The gross margin remained steady at 48.3%. This marks the ninth consecutive quarter of revenue growth, achieved alongside substantial cost discipline.
Hardware Rollout and Product Strategy
The company's strategic direction is clearly reflected in its hardware shipments. An overwhelming 94% of all smart devices shipped in the period were equipped with AI capabilities. Although management anticipates some seasonal softness in the fourth quarter of 2025, the outlook for the full year 2026 remains positive. Tuya expects the continued integration of AI with IoT hardware to serve as a primary growth catalyst.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying TuyaADR?
This AIoT integration was showcased at two major industry events earlier this year. At the CES exhibition in Las Vegas in early January, the theme was "Physical AI." Demonstrations included the "Aura" pet robot, and on January 8th, a collaboration with Robopoet was announced. The partnership aims to develop a cellular-network-enabled AI companion, highlighting Tuya's ambition to embed artificial intelligence more deeply into users' daily routines.
Shortly after, at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in late January, the company unveiled a suite of AI-powered toy solutions. These innovations featured an interactive plush toy that conveys emotions via LED displays and an adaptive camera designed for educational purposes. The underlying platform strategy is designed to reduce development costs for partners while ensuring compliance with global safety standards, thereby simplifying international market entry.
