The mining group Smi concluded its 2025 fiscal year with extraordinary financial results, driven primarily by a favorable environment for silver. Annual revenues surged by 49%, propelled by a combination of higher sales volumes and advantageous global pricing for the precious metal. A remarkably strong final quarter was instrumental in setting new benchmarks for the company's performance.

Financial Highlights and Market Performance

Smi's total revenue for the year surpassed 1.56 billion Dirham. The standout performance occurred in the fourth quarter, where sales skyrocketed by 154% year-over-year to reach 589 million Dirham. This dramatic increase was achieved by successfully converting increased production volumes into stronger cash flows, a strategy that paid off handsomely amid rising silver prices.

On the Casablanca stock exchange, the company's shares reached new all-time highs following the earnings release, outperforming a broader market that showed periods of weakness during the same timeframe.

Strengthened Balance Sheet and Strategic Investments

The robust operational results significantly fortified Smi's financial position. By year-end, the company's cash reserves stood at 540 million Dirham, representing a substantial 73% increase compared to the close of 2024. This enhanced liquidity from self-financing provides considerable flexibility for future strategic initiatives.

Total investments for the year amounted to 214 million Dirham. Approximately one-third of this capital, or 33%, was allocated specifically to exploration and research activities at the Imiter site. Management is directing these funds to secure long-term resource bases and expand production capacities.

Looking ahead, Smi's growth trajectory is closely linked to two key factors: ongoing exploration success and stability in the global precious metals market.
