Safran's Strategic Push to Fortify Its Supply Network
05.04.2026 - 06:06:19 | boerse-global.deThe French aerospace specialist Safran is implementing a comprehensive new strategy for its supplier network, aiming to leave nothing to chance as it prepares for the next generation of short- and medium-haul aircraft. While the group is making significant operational investments, its shares are currently facing technical headwinds in the capital markets.
Operational Ambitions and Technological Priorities
Safran has set ambitious operational targets, including achieving a 95% on-time rate across its entire supply chain to secure long-term production stability. Management is focusing on early risk detection through its "One Safran Baselines" initiative to reach this level. Currently, nearly 90 investment projects are underway globally to expand capacity, driven by rising demand in both civil aviation and the defense sector.
Technological development is centered on decarbonization. The RISE program forms the technological foundation for future low-emission propulsion systems. Concurrently, Safran is tightening sustainability criteria for its partners. The company aims to increase the proportion of suppliers evaluated according to CSR standards from the current 50% to 80%.

Market Performance and Upcoming Catalyst
Despite Wells Fargo recently initiating coverage of the stock with an "Overweight" rating, the technical chart picture shows weakness. The shares closed at 288.60 euros, trading notably below the 200-day moving average of around 300 euros. An RSI reading of 33.8 further indicates the equity has lost considerable momentum recently and is approaching technically oversold territory.
Investors are looking ahead to Safran’s first-quarter sales release on April 23rd. Key focal points will be concrete progress on deliveries of the LEAP engines and the completion of the current share buyback program, which has a volume of 125 million euros.
Strategic Initiatives at a Glance:
* RISE Program: Developing new generations of low-emission aircraft engines.
* CSR Compliance: Raising the rate of supplier evaluations to 80%.
* Capacity Investment: Nearly 90 active projects for expanding production capabilities.
