RTL Group's production subsidiary, Fremantle, is sharpening its strategic focus on the North American market with a key executive appointment. The company has named Jimmy Fox as its President of Content and Strategy for the region, signaling a renewed commitment despite Fremantle closing a challenging 2025 financial year marked by declining revenues and write-downs on program costs.

Streaming Emerges as a Bright Spot

This leadership reinforcement aligns with a broader corporate transformation at RTL Group. While the group's total revenue declined in 2025, its streaming business posted a significant 26% increase. For the coming year, the conglomerate is targeting its first-ever profitable result in the streaming segment, forecasting earnings between 25 and 50 million euros for 2026.

The strategic logic is clear: competing effectively in the global streaming landscape requires a robust content strategy centered on North America. The move to strengthen Fremantle's management structure directly supports this objective.

Executive Shift to Drive Content Pipeline

Jimmy Fox, who joined the organization in 2024 as Executive Vice President of Unscripted Development and Sales, will now oversee development and strategic business initiatives across the entire North American region. His existing portfolio includes projects such as the Netflix film Evil Influencer and the revival of the game show Match Game.

He is currently advancing development on the competition series Win the Mall, which is scheduled to begin production in March 2026.
