Refined Energy Advances Exploration with Second Drill Hole at Dufferin West

Refined Energy advances its Athabasca Basin exploration, targeting a key EM conductor and gravity anomaly intersection, a prime indicator for uranium potential.

Refined Energy continues to execute its exploration strategy in the Athabasca Basin without pause. The company has initiated a second drill hole at its Dufferin West project, building on the initial phase of its campaign. Geological data from the ongoing work continues to indicate promising potential.

Drilling Targets Key Geological Features

The current drilling program, budgeted at approximately CAD $1.7 million, is designed for a minimum of three holes totaling around 1,200 meters. The second hole follows the same electromagnetic conductor identified in the first but is now more precisely targeted. This focus is due to newly completed gravity survey data covering about 530 hectares. The drill is aiming for the intersection point of the EM conductor and a gravity anomaly, which suggests a cross-cutting fault structure. Within the prolific Athabasca Basin, such intersections are recognized as prime indicators for uranium mineralization.

Initial Hole Reaches Critical Zone

Results from the inaugural borehole are still pending, with sampling and core analysis currently underway. That first hole successfully intersected the targeted unconformity at a depth of 332 meters before proceeding into the basement rock. This geological unconformity—the contact zone between younger sedimentary rocks and the older basement bedrock—is of particular significance. Historically, high-grade uranium deposits in the region are frequently associated with these specific transition zones.

Project Ownership and Share Performance

Refined Energy holds an option to acquire up to a 75% interest in the Dufferin project, which encompasses the Dufferin North and Dufferin West claim blocks. The company's share price has demonstrated notable volatility this year. While it currently trades approximately 48% below its January peak, it has more than tripled in value since its low point in October.
