Nvidia's Multi-Front Expansion: Cementing AI Dominance From Edge to Cloud

05.04.2026 - 00:08:15 | boerse-global.de

Nvidia's Rubin AI chips target 2026 launch as it expands data center deals and pushes AI to local PCs. Forecasts show it driving nearly half of S&P 500 profit growth.

Even as the market continues to absorb the impact of its Blackwell generation, Nvidia is already spearheading the next technological wave. A recent surge of announcements underscores the chipmaker's strategy to solidify its leadership across virtually every market segment by dramatically expanding its sphere of influence.

Financial Stature and Forward-Looking Challenges

The company's colossal economic impact is highlighted in a current forecast from major investment banks. According to their analysis, Nvidia could be responsible for up to 46 percent of all profit growth within the S&P 500 by 2026. With a market capitalization of approximately $4.36 trillion and a price-to-earnings ratio of just over 36, the market is already pricing in this aggressive expansion strategy. The next fundamental test for this valuation level will arrive in the second half of 2026. This is when the mass delivery of its new Rubin chips must confirm the ambitious performance leaps within the company's financial statements.

Infrastructure and the Next-Generation Rubin

Beyond the consumer space, Nvidia is aggressively expanding its data center infrastructure footprint. A strategic $2 billion partnership with Marvell Technology aims to offer clients greater flexibility in building AI factories through custom silicon solutions. Furthermore, collaborations with energy companies are underway to enable the flexible integration of future data centers into power grids.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Nvidia?

Simultaneously, production of the next-generation chip architecture, codenamed "Rubin," is already at full speed. Manufactured using an advanced 3-nanometer process, these processors are slated for mass delivery in the second half of 2026, with performance projected to exceed their predecessors by two and a half times. However, the planned "Rubin Ultra" variant, scheduled for 2027, currently faces manufacturing hurdles at supplier TSMC, attributed to complex packaging technologies.

Pushing AI to the Local PC and Navigating Geopolitics

A central pillar of Nvidia's latest approach is optimized support for Google's Gemma 4 models. This move brings powerful, autonomous AI agents directly to local PCs and edge devices, reducing reliance on expensive cloud solutions and enabling private, cost-effective data processing on the user's own hardware. Performance metrics on new hardware are compelling: certain Gemma 4 models run nearly three times faster on an RTX 5090 compared to similar competing products from Apple.

There is also movement in the geopolitically sensitive China market. Following the receipt of U.S. export licenses, Nvidia has resumed production of its H200 chips for Chinese customers. However, more modern architectures like Blackwell or Rubin remain blocked for this market due to ongoing U.S. sanctions.
