Nvidia Corp. is leveraging its dominant position in artificial intelligence hardware to architect the future of an entirely new industry: media and entertainment. At the NAB Show 2026 in Las Vegas, the chipmaker is demonstrating how AI can overhaul video production, from real-time live broadcast translation to powerful search tools for analyzing vast libraries of footage. This strategic push into creative software, highlighted by an expanded partnership with Adobe for its Premiere Pro platform, opens fresh revenue streams beyond its core data center business.

The company’s financial engine provides more than enough fuel for this expansion. Nvidia reported record quarterly revenue of $68.1 billion last quarter, a 73% year-over-year surge that exceeded market expectations by $2.57 billion. The data center segment alone contributed over $62 billion. For the current quarter, management is guiding for approximately $78 billion in sales, a forecast that deliberately excludes business from China.

Analysts see a clear path to a $6 trillion-plus market capitalization. Of the 70 covering the stock, 93% maintain a buy rating with a median price target of $267.50, implying an upside of about 33% from recent levels. This would lift Nvidia’s valuation to roughly $6.5 trillion from its current $4.9 trillion. The stock, trading at €169.48, sits 8.6% above its 200-day moving average and has soared nearly 96% from a 52-week low of €86.58 touched just days ago.

Growth projections remain staggering. For fiscal 2026, analysts project total revenue of $216 billion, with the data center unit expected to deliver $193.7 billion of that total. The company’s upcoming Blackwell and Vera Rubin processor lines are forecast to generate a combined $1 trillion in sales over calendar years 2026 and 2027. CEO Jensen Huang has noted the company’s order backlog extends beyond $1 trillion through 2027.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Nvidia?

Despite this dominance, competitive pressures are emerging. Google is reportedly in talks with Marvell Technology to develop two new AI chips, signaling hyperscalers' desire to reduce reliance on a single supplier. Elsewhere, a high-profile AI data center project associated with former President Trump faced a setback after its CEO departed, underscoring the practical complexities of building large-scale AI infrastructure.

Nvidia’s valuation presents a paradox. Its forward price-to-earnings ratio stands at approximately 24, far below its three-year average of 79, even as earnings growth for 2026 is expected to hit 74%. This disconnect highlights the market’s struggle to price unprecedented growth.

The company’s innovation extends beyond media and traditional AI. It recently unveiled "Nvidia Ising," its first open-source model family for quantum AI, aimed at helping researchers develop more powerful quantum processors. In Las Vegas, discussions with the European Broadcasting Union are focusing on data sovereignty, reflecting growing European broadcaster interest in local AI infrastructure.

Nvidia at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

The broader tech earnings season will serve as a barometer for the AI ecosystem. Reports from Intel, Tesla, and IBM are due, with Intel’s results on April 23rd of particular interest following a 66% stock surge driven by its own AI chip partnerships.

Nvidia’s presence at the NAB Show, which runs until April 22nd, cements its role as an indispensable infrastructure partner for the creative economy. By simultaneously driving its core data center business and seeding new markets in media and quantum computing, the chip giant is building multiple pillars for its next phase of growth.
