Nexcel Metals has initiated a significant airborne survey at its Burnt Hill tungsten project in New Brunswick, marking a key preparatory step for a planned drilling campaign. The company’s technical team is employing advanced geophysical methods to refine future drill targets, with a core objective of enhancing the efficiency of its upcoming summer exploration program.

Advanced Airborne Survey Underway

A HeliTEM® survey, covering approximately 5,677 hectares over 1,480 line-kilometers, commenced last Friday. This high-resolution program is designed to detect subsurface geological structures that have remained concealed. By utilizing tight flight-line spacings of 100 meters, Nexcel Metals aims to substantially improve the precision of its subsequent drilling efforts, thereby minimizing the risk of non-productive holes and optimizing exploration expenditures.

The data gathered from this initiative will be critical for prioritizing exact drilling locations for a campaign slated for the summer of 2026. With tungsten classified as a critical mineral, the systematic development of resources like Burnt Hill is gaining strategic importance. The company’s approach focuses on de-risking the project and strengthening the North American tungsten supply chain.

Building on Established Resource Potential

The current exploration push is grounded in the known resource at the Burnt Hill site. Historical estimates outline an indicated resource of 1.76 million tonnes of ore, containing approximately 8.99 million pounds of tungsten. An additional inferred resource of 1.52 million tonnes, grading 0.263% WO3, further underscores the project's potential.

The findings from the aerial survey will directly inform where drill rigs are deployed in 2026. For market observers, this process highlights the focus on confirming the geological continuity of the deposit.
