Netflix Reconfigures Product Leadership Amid Internal Shakeup
15.02.2026 - 03:40:26 | boerse-global.deNetflix, the leading streaming platform, is restructuring its internal organization to align with a new leadership approach. The changes come just days after a prominent top-management promotion and include reductions within the product division. Netflix frames the move as a structural adjustment under the new leadership rather than a broader cost-cutting push.
The planned changes affect the product division, which employs about 6,000 people. According to reports on February 12, several dozen positions are slated for elimination, representing less than 1% of the workforce in that unit. The cuts primarily hit mid-level management and administrative roles, while senior leadership remains unaffected. Netflix stressed that the move is not tied to the wider trend of AI-related layoffs in the tech sector and is not a pure cost-reduction effort.
Shifts in Leadership Responsibility
The reorganization is tied to a key management decision made on February 2. Elizabeth Stone, who previously served as Chief Technology Officer, was promoted to Chief Product and Technology Officer. The newly created role consolidates product, engineering, and data teams under a single leadership umbrella. This structural reform aims to streamline these functions under the new reporting line. The role of Chief Product Officer had been vacant since September of the prior year and is now effectively covered by Stone?s expanded remit.

Innovation Focus for 2026
Despite the internal adjustments, Netflix remains committed to its investment plan for 2026. The emphasis lies on enhancing the user experience, notably through interactive features and new pathways for content discovery. The restructuring is intended to make product teams more agile, enabling the delivery of these objectives and the continued expansion of Netflix?s content library.
