Navitas Semiconductor Corporation has introduced a new power conversion technology this week, targeting a fundamental shift in the architecture of artificial intelligence data centers. The company's latest DC-DC power board is engineered to convert 800 volts directly down to 6 volts, completely eliminating the conventional intermediate step that first reduces voltage to 48 volts. This removal of an entire conversion stage is designed to cut energy losses, reduce the physical footprint required, and boost overall system efficiency.

A Strategic Product Launch Amid Financial Challenges

The unveiling occurs during a period of mixed financial performance for the company. While Navitas continues to report growth in revenue, it has not yet achieved profitability. For the fourth quarter, the firm posted sales of $7.3 million, a figure that modestly exceeded analyst expectations of $6.9 million. Looking ahead to the first quarter of 2026, management's own revenue guidance of $8.0 to $8.5 million also sits above the current market consensus.

Nevertheless, broader financial metrics remain under pressure. The company is contending with persistent operational losses, ongoing cash consumption, and a notable year-over-year revenue decline for the full 2025 period. Adding to the transitional phase, Tonya Stevens is set to assume the role of Chief Financial Officer from Todd Glickman on March 30. The potential impact of this leadership change on spending priorities and sales strategy has yet to be determined.

Technical Specifications and Competitive Positioning

The core innovation lies in simplifying the power delivery pathway. In existing systems, an 800-volt input first passes through an Intermediate Bus Converter to step down to 48 volts, before a final conversion to the operating voltage required by GPU components. Navitas's new board bypasses that intermediate stage entirely.

The design achieves a peak efficiency of 96.5% at full load and a power density of 2,100 W/in³, positioning it as a technically competitive solution. This performance is enabled by 16 GaNFast transistors arranged in a stacked full-bridge configuration, alongside a switching frequency of one megahertz, which permits the use of exceptionally small passive components. The resulting board is approximately 20% thinner than a modern smartphone, a form factor that allows for tight integration directly adjacent to GPU boards.

Showcasing to the Target Market

The product is currently being demonstrated at two key industry events: the NVIDIA GTC 2026 conference in San José and, starting this weekend, at APEC 2026 in San Antonio. These venues provide direct access to the intended audience—hyperscalers and data center operators who are in the process of planning their next-generation server rack infrastructure.

For Navitas's equity, the critical unanswered question is whether these demonstrations will translate into concrete design wins within production systems, and how rapidly such wins could convert into meaningful revenue.
