JPMorgan Adjusts Outlook for Kion Group Ahead of Earnings
03.04.2026 - 01:07:58 | boerse-global.deAhead of its quarterly report, Kion Group shares faced significant selling pressure following an analyst briefing from JPMorgan. The investment bank's comments have prepared investors for a more challenging operating environment, weighing on confidence in the intralogistics specialist's near-term prospects.
Price Target Lowered Amid Sector Cooling
JPMorgan analyst Akash Gupta has adjusted his valuation for the company, lowering the price target to 71 euros from a previous 75 euros. While maintaining an "Overweight" rating, Gupta pointed to a noticeable slowdown in the Industrial Trucks & Services (ITS) division. A decline in incoming orders is becoming apparent, which is expected to limit potential for positive surprises in the upcoming earnings release.
The stock's decline of approximately 9.5 percent to 41.72 euros reflects this combination of cyclical and geopolitical risks. External factors are compounding the demand outlook, with persistent uncertainty from the conflict involving Iran and the prevailing interest rate environment creating a more difficult business climate.

Technical and Year-to-Date Performance Worsens
This latest downward move exacerbates an already weak performance since the start of the year, with the share price now down more than 40 percent. The slide has also significantly widened the gap to the equity's 50-day moving average, which stands at 55.36 euros. Market observers interpret JPMorgan's revised assessment as a signal for a more cautious view of the entire sector heading into the Easter weekend.
Investors are now looking ahead to the official quarterly results. This report will indicate whether the anticipated demand slowdown is already fully reflected in the share price or if management will need to adopt a more conservative outlook for the remainder of the fiscal year.
