Following its acquisition by Salesforce, Informatica has unveiled its first major strategic shift as a fully-owned subsidiary. The data management firm is deepening its alliance with Amazon Web Services to accelerate the development of agentic AI capabilities.
The backdrop to these announcements is the completion of Salesforce's all-cash acquisition of Informatica on November 18, 2025. The deal, valued at approximately $8 billion, saw Salesforce purchase all outstanding Informatica shares for $25.00 each. Consequently, trading of Informatica’s Class A common stock on the NYSE has ceased. The company is no longer an independent public entity, and its financial results will now be consolidated within Salesforce’s reporting segments.
This move aligns with Salesforce's broader ambition to command the enterprise data market. Analysts from Bank of America Global Research estimate this sector could grow to $155 billion, fueled by demand for infrastructure supporting generative and agentic AI.
Deepening AWS Ties for AI Advancement
At the recent AWS re:Invent conference, Informatica showcased new product integrations. A central development is the introduction of Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. This technology allows developers to embed Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) directly within AI agents, aiming to provide autonomous systems with access to managed, high-quality data.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Informatica?
Furthermore, the company confirmed its CLAIRE® AI engine now works with Anthropic’s Claude models via Amazon Bedrock. This collaboration is designed to enhance semantic query generation and schema anchoring, which are considered critical components for deploying scalable, trustworthy enterprise AI.
Rahul Pathak, Vice President of Data and AI GTM at AWS, highlighted the partnership's strategic importance, stating, "As companies embark on agentic AI, they require trusted data foundations."
Integration and Future Outlook
While Informatica will no longer host its own earnings calls, its technology is expected to become a cornerstone of the Salesforce Data Cloud. The swift integration with AWS Bedrock—mere weeks after the merger closed—signals Salesforce's intention to maintain and leverage Informatica’s robust partner ecosystem.
For former shareholders, the $25.00 per share payout represented the final liquidity event. Market attention now turns to upcoming Salesforce financial reports, which will be scrutinized for revenue contribution from the Informatica division and progress on realizing cost synergies from the merger.
