Graphite One continues its pursuit of establishing a fully integrated U.S.-based graphite supply chain. The company recently provided updates on several fronts, including annual results, a federal permitting process, and a substantial financing framework. However, the journey from exploration to commercial production remains a lengthy one.

Regulatory and Financial Framework Takes Shape

A central element for the company's future is its Graphite Creek project in Alaska, described by the U.S. Geological Survey as the largest known natural graphite deposit in the United States. The initiative is listed on the federal FAST-41 dashboard, facilitating a coordinated review by multiple agencies. Authorities have established a target timeline of 13.5 months for this permitting process.

On the financing side, the U.S. Export-Import Bank (EXIM) has provided non-binding letters of interest totaling $2.07 billion. This sum includes $1.4 billion earmarked for a planned processing facility in Warren, Ohio, and $670 million for the Alaskan mining operation. In a complementary move, Graphite One has closed a public equity offering raising CAD $35 million. Warrants associated with this offering began trading on the TSX Venture Exchange in early March 2026.

Financial Performance Reflects Pre-Production Phase

For the 2025 fiscal year, Graphite One reported a net loss of $9.14 million, widening from a $6.8 million loss in the prior year. This equates to a loss per share of $0.06. As an exploration-stage company without active production, such losses are structurally typical, primarily reflecting increased project development expenses.

The company's shares currently trade around €0.70. While the equity has recovered from its 52-week low in September 2025, it has faced significant pressure since the start of the year.

Future Milestones and Additional Potential

The company's immediate progress hinges on two critical developments: the formal conversion of EXIM's non-binding letters into firm credit agreements and the successful completion of the federal permitting process. Concurrently, Graphite One has scheduled a 2026 test program with a U.S. national laboratory. This program will investigate the potential for extracting rare earth elements at the Graphite Creek site—a factor that could influence the project's overall valuation in the medium term.
