Fintechwerx International Launches Academic Partnership with BCIT

Fintechwerx International collaborates with BCIT students to analyze and optimize its AI systems, following recent strategic expansions and a CAD 250,000 private placement.

Fintechwerx International So has formally established a collaborative initiative with the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). The partnership will see eight students from the Business Information Technology Management program begin contributing to the enhancement of the company's artificial intelligence infrastructure starting next week.

Strategic Expansion and Recent Funding

This academic collaboration represents the latest in a series of strategic moves undertaken by Fintechwerx since the start of the year. In January 2026, the company completed a proof of concept with ActioHX. The following month, it acquired a stake in AetherEV. Early March brought a signed letter of intent regarding an investment in a regulated payment institution based in Gibraltar.

To fund these expansion activities, Fintechwerx concluded a non-brokered private placement on January 15, 2026. The company issued 223,214 units at a price of CAD 1.12 each, generating gross proceeds of approximately CAD 250,000. These funds are earmarked for research, platform development, and general working capital. Each unit consisted of one common share and one warrant, with each warrant entitling the holder to purchase an additional share at CAD 1.39 within a two-year period.

Student Teams to Conduct In-Depth Analysis

The participating BCIT students have been divided into two teams of four, each guided by two faculty members. Their ten-week project will focus on conducting gap analyses and identifying optimization opportunities within Fintechwerx's systems. A key area of their work will involve applying predictive analytics to support data-driven financial decision-making.

The students are scheduled to present their findings on May 22, 2026. Their research and recommendations will be integrated directly into the ongoing development of the company's AI-Werx platform. This platform encompasses automated onboarding processes, merchant analytics, and fraud detection systems.
