Fintechwerx International Eyes European Market with Gibraltar Payments Venture

Fintechwerx International partners with CardCorp and Stream to form a consortium and apply for a Gibraltar payments license, investing £250k to access the European market.

In a strategic move to broaden its European footprint, Fintechwerx International has announced plans to establish a new payments institution in Gibraltar. The company confirmed the signing of a memorandum of understanding today, marking a deliberate push into the continent's regulated financial services sector.

Strategic Alliance and Shareholding Structure

The venture will be pursued through a consortium. Fintechwerx International is set to acquire a 20 percent stake in the newly formed entity. Its partners, CardCorp and Stream, will each hold 40 percent ownership. The primary objective of this partnership is to jointly apply for a Class-C payments institution license from the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission.

Securing this regulatory approval is a pivotal step, as it would authorize the company to provide specific payment services within the jurisdiction. This initiative represents a significant milestone in Fintechwerx's strategy for geographical diversification.

Financial Commitment and Regulatory Process

A total investment of 250,000 British pounds has been allocated by Fintechwerx International for its stake in the project. To immediately commence the licensing procedure, an initial 50,000 pounds has been earmarked to cover preparatory and administrative expenses.

The completion of the entire transaction remains conditional, pending the necessary regulatory approvals from the competent supervisory authorities in Gibraltar. Should the process conclude successfully, Fintechwerx would substantially enhance its access to the European market for regulated payment services.
