Eutelsat Group has issued a significant operational update just one day before the close of its ongoing rights issue subscription period. The Franco-British satellite operator announced a long-term contract extension with a major client, a move that could provide stability for its share price during a pivotal refinancing phase.

This positive corporate development arrives during a critical financial juncture. The subscription period for Eutelsat's rights issue, which aims to raise approximately €670 million, concludes on Tuesday, December 9. This capital increase represents the final component of a comprehensive €1.5 billion refinancing package.

Market participants are now looking ahead to Friday, December 12, when the company is scheduled to announce the final results of the equity offering. Only then will the extent of the final dilution be known and confirmation provided on whether the refinancing has been completed as planned.

Long-Term Agreement Underpins Core Business

The company confirmed on Monday that it has renewed its partnership with beIN MEDIA GROUP for an additional five years. This agreement continues to reserve capacity for the sports and entertainment broadcaster on the EUTELSAT 7 West A and 8 West B satellites.

The deal holds considerable strategic importance for Eutelsat. The orbital position at 7/8° West delivers coverage to roughly 95% of television households across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This contract extension highlights the enduring resilience of the traditional broadcast segment. Despite growing competition from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellations, the geostationary fleet maintains its technological and economic advantage for mass distribution of live sports to over 66 million homes. Securing this revenue stream provides a vital cash flow buffer as Eutelsat continues to integrate its OneWeb business unit.
