With site preparations now largely complete, the company's focus is shifting to mechanical installation. A Pivotal Project for Regional Supply Chains

The facility in Temiskaming Shores is considered a cornerstone for building a resilient North American battery supply chain. As foundational infrastructure work concludes, attention turns to integrating mechanical systems. Market observers are closely monitoring adherence to the updated project schedule.

Several upcoming operational decisions will significantly influence development. A key milestone is awarding the main contract for structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation (SMPEI) work. Securing this contractor is a prerequisite for commencing the next stage of on-site activity. Full mobilization of the construction site would also signal the start of the most intensive building period. Concurrently, coordinating with suppliers of cobalt hydroxide feedstock remains essential to securing raw material supply that meets North American standards.

Electra has outlined a specific timeline for the coming years. Full site mobilization is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026. By late 2026, initial commissioning of individual plant components and refinery circuits is expected to begin.

Mechanical completion of the entire refinery complex is targeted for the second quarter of 2027. The current objective is to achieve commercial-scale production levels by the fourth quarter of 2027.
