Cisco Systems is intensifying its strategic focus on artificial intelligence and 5G connectivity, aiming to solidify its role as a core infrastructure provider for the digital era. Recent moves, including launching a dedicated AI facility in Australia and expanding a key partnership with AT&T, highlight the company's push to meet surging demand for localized data processing and industrial IoT solutions. In its quarterly report released on February 11, Cisco disclosed it had secured AI infrastructure orders worth $2.1 billion from hyperscale clients. Despite some insider sales conducted under pre-arranged trading plans, the operational outlook appears robust. A cornerstone of Cisco's approach is the development of sovereign AI infrastructure. In collaboration with SharonAI and NVIDIA, the company inaugurated Australia's first "Secure AI Factory." This initiative provides businesses with a local data processing platform, ensuring sensitive information remains within national borders—a critical requirement for government agencies and heavily regulated industries.

Concurrently, Cisco is advancing the automation of IT management. Its newly introduced "AgenticOps" framework is designed to help IT teams manage complex networks with near autonomy using AI-driven agents. To scale these autonomous operations, Cisco has also established a new competency center in India with Tata Consultancy Services.
