Baidu Apollo International has secured regulatory approval to begin testing ten autonomous vehicles in East Kowloon, Hong Kong, starting next week. This authorization represents a crucial step in expanding Baidu’s self-driving technology beyond mainland China. The company has been operating similar pilot programs in North Lantau and the Southern District since late 2024, reporting substantial progress in multi-vehicle operations and passenger transportation.
