The exploration team at Apex Critical Metals has identified a significant new mineralized zone at its Lac Le Moyne project in Nunavik, Quebec. This discovery, found outside previously mapped boundaries, has prompted an immediate and substantial expansion of the company's land position to capture the area's full potential.
A recent field campaign analyzing over 150 rock samples yielded compelling data, including niobium pentoxide grades as high as 0.40% and total rare earth oxide (REO) concentrations reaching 0.50%. The geological context of these high-grade samples proved particularly encouraging, as they originated from areas beyond the project's known limits.
In a direct strategic response, Apex has staked an additional 77 mineral claims. This move adds approximately 3,609 hectares to the project area, securing the suspected source of the mineralization and the prospective corridor.
Concurrent Advances Across North American Portfolio
While progress continues in Quebec, Apex is advancing its flagship Rift project in Nebraska. The company is employing modern analytical techniques to re-examine historical drill cores from the 1970s and 1980s. Historical work in this region had already identified notable mineralization, including intervals exceeding 3% rare earth oxides.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Apex Critical Metals?
The company's Cap Project in British Columbia also reported positive results this year, confirming a niobium trend extending over 1.8 kilometers. Financially, Apex is well-positioned to fund these exploration activities following a CAD $10 million capital raise completed in October.
Share Price Reflects Sector Volatility
Operational milestones have been accompanied by the typical volatility seen in the exploration sector. Although the stock has doubled since the start of the year, it recently faced downward pressure, declining roughly 28% over a 30-day period. The current share price of €1.25 remains substantially below its 52-week high of €3.00.
A Roadmap for Key Catalysts in 2026
The company's calendar for the coming months provides clear catalysts for investors. The first quarter of 2026 is set to deliver assay results from the historical Nebraska core samples, alongside the launch of a new drilling campaign at that site. Meanwhile, a follow-up sampling program is scheduled for the 2026 field season at Lac Le Moyne in Quebec to better define the extent of the new discovery.
Carbonatite deposits, like those targeted by Apex, are considered geological rarities, with only about 600 such systems identified globally.
