Almonty Industries: Building a Global Tungsten Powerhouse

Almonty Industries begins production at its Sangdong mine, aiming to supply 40% of non-China tungsten demand. Analysts raise price targets as the company diversifies into North America.

As Western governments urgently seek alternatives to China's dominance in critical minerals, Almonty Industries is positioning itself as a key supplier. The commencement of production at its Sangdong mine in South Korea marks a pivotal shift for the company, transitioning from a project developer to a global producer. This strategic move has prompted market analysts to significantly raise their price targets for the company's stock.

Financial Momentum and Strategic Reserves

The company's operational progress is now reflected in its financial statements. For the fourth quarter of 2025, revenue climbed 39% year-over-year to $8.7 million USD, driven largely by a substantial increase in tungsten spot prices.

This growth, however, comes with increased costs. Total administrative expenses for the full year reached $20.5 million USD, a notable rise from the $6.2 million reported the previous year. To support its ambitious plans, the company completed a capital raise in December, finishing the year with a robust cash position exceeding $268 million USD. This strengthened financial foundation has supported a remarkable 464% share price appreciation over a twelve-month period.

A Dual-Continent Production Strategy

The de-risking of Almonty's profile is primarily due to the successful phase-one launch of the Sangdong mine. The facility is now processing approximately 640,000 tonnes of ore annually into tungsten concentrate. Management is already looking ahead, with plans to double capacity by 2027. At full output, Sangdong is projected to supply an estimated 40% of the global tungsten demand originating from outside China.

Concurrently, the company is establishing a second operational pillar in North America. Its Gentung Browns Lake project in Montana represents one of the most advanced tungsten deposits in the United States. Almonty is targeting the start of commercial production there by the end of 2026. This geographical diversification is strategically timed, coinciding with anticipated U.S. restrictions on Chinese tungsten in defense procurement set to take effect in 2027.

Wall Street Revises Outlook

The reduced project risk and clearer visibility on future cash flows have captured the attention of equity researchers. Three analysis firms issued updated assessments this week:

• Diamond Equity Research: Increased price target to $27.00 USD.
• B. Riley Financial: Upgraded price target from $17.00 to $23.00 USD, maintaining a Buy rating.
• Alliance Global Partners: Issued a new price target of $19.25 USD, raised from $14.00 USD, with a Buy recommendation.

Alliance Global Partners forecasts that the ramp-up at Sangdong could propel revenue to 297 million Canadian dollars by 2026. Realizing these projections is contingent upon a smooth execution of the initial production phase and the timely launch of the expansion. In parallel, Almonty's management plans to evaluate additional tungsten projects throughout the year, aiming to secure strategic supply chains for its Western industrial customers.
