Sector Dynamics and Market Concentration

Recent industry metrics highlight this significant concentration of capital. AGNC Investment holds the position of the second-largest mREIT by market capitalization, which currently stands at approximately $11.45 billion. It is surpassed only by its competitor Annaly Capital Management, valued at roughly $15.7 billion. Combined, these two giants account for a substantial portion of the sector's total market value, estimated to be close to $70 billion.

Commanding a double-digit percentage share of the entire sector's value, AGNC Investment remains a central bellwether for mREITs.
