Accenture Sharpens Strategic Focus with Divestiture and AI-Driven Efficiency
05.04.2026 - 06:06:19 | boerse-global.de
Accenture continues to refine its business portfolio, moving decisively to shed non-core assets while leveraging artificial intelligence to drive significant internal cost savings. The global IT consultancy has completed the sale of its Mortgage Cadence subsidiary, a transaction that underscores its ongoing strategic realignment toward higher-margin core services.
Strategic Portfolio Pruning
In a move consistent with its recent restructuring, Accenture has finalized the divestiture of Mortgage Cadence to software holding company PartnerOne. The deal transfers the full suite of mortgage technology solutions, including document management platforms, to the new owner. PartnerOne has indicated it will continue operating the platform for existing clients while investing in further product development.
This sale represents another step in Accenture's portfolio simplification. It follows the major reorganization of the company's service divisions at the end of March, which saw them consolidated into seven new units. The corporation is increasingly concentrating its resources on areas with the strongest profitability.
Internal AI Deployment Unlocks Capital and Efficiency
Beyond external restructuring, Accenture is realizing substantial benefits from applying generative AI within its own operations. Internal data from April 3 reveals that integrating AI into its enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems has unlocked 20 percent of previously idle cash. This freed-up capital is now available to fund additional growth initiatives and potential acquisitions.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Accenture?
The automation of balance sheet reconciliations through AI is saving approximately 57,000 work hours annually. Furthermore, this automation has compressed the global financial closing cycle from five days down to three. In accounts receivable, AI-powered payment matching has doubled the rate of automatic reconciliations.
Dividend Increase Attracts Major Investors
These operational improvements have not gone unnoticed by institutional investors. Norges Bank established a new position in Accenture valued at approximately $2.15 billion. Simultaneously, Capital International Investors increased its stake by over 41 percent, bringing its total holding to more than 17.1 million shares.
Shareholders are now looking ahead to April 9, the ex-dividend date. Investors holding the stock at the close on that date will be eligible for the increased quarterly cash dividend of $1.63 per share, which represents a 10 percent raise. The dividend payment is scheduled for May 15, 2026.

Market Performance and Analyst Outlook
Despite these positive fundamental developments, Accenture's share price has yet to reflect the operational progress. The stock closed at €173.06 on Friday, marking a decline of nearly 22 percent since the start of the year.
Analysts, however, see potential for the share price to recover, citing the internal efficiency gains and streamlined portfolio. The current average price target among analysts stands at $274.88. Sentiment remains broadly positive, with 18 out of 28 covering experts recommending the stock as a "Buy."
