GDT acquisition announced in September
In an announcement dated September 17, 2026, Softcat plc said it had agreed to acquire GDT Topco, L.P., a U.S.-based IT solutions provider, for an enterprise value of $1,050 million, or £785 million. The transaction is calculated on a cash-free, debt-free basis and is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of calendar year 2027, subject to customary regulatory filings and approvals, according to the Investegate-published company announcement.
Softcat said the acquisition would be funded through £100 million of cash, £550 million of new debt facilities and £350 million of proceeds from an equity placing. In the same announcement, the company said it expected high-teens growth in FY2026 underlying operating profit and cash conversion toward the top of its guided range of 85 percent to 95 percent. Softcat said its FY2026 preliminary results were scheduled for October 14, 2026.
