QIAGEN expands bloodstream infection testing portfolio
In a September 28, 2026 press release, QIAGEN N.V. said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration had cleared a new QIAstat-Dx BCID GN Plus AMR Panel. According to the company, the panel identifies 13 gram-negative bacterial targets and 18 antimicrobial resistance markers in about one hour. Together with a previously cleared panel, the QIAstat-Dx bloodstream infection portfolio covers 33 pathogen targets and 28 resistance markers, the company said.
New automation system launched
QIAGEN also announced on September 24, 2026, the launch of QIAmini, a compact automated sample preparation system for research laboratories. The company said the benchtop system processes up to eight samples per run and automates DNA and RNA extraction and purification. Across evaluated workflows, QIAGEN reported a reduction of more than 80 percent in hands-on time compared with manual processing, according to its release.
