Radiation-therapy portfolio expanded
On September 25, Philips said it was expanding its computed tomography simulation portfolio with Multimodality Simulation Workspace, or MM Sim Advance, and Mid-Position on its Rembra RT system. The company said the capabilities are designed to support radiation-therapy teams during CT simulation and treatment-planning preparation. Philips planned to feature the products at the 2026 American Society for Radiation Oncology Annual Meeting in Boston from September 27 through September 30. Philips said MM Sim Advance is FDA 510(k)-cleared and CE marked.
Earlier innovation awards
In a September 16 announcement, Philips said two Philips-led public-private research collaborations received ITEA Awards of Excellence 2026. SYMPHONY was recognized for connected healthcare ecosystems, while AI FORSchung was recognized for AI-based fiber-optic sensing. Philips said the latter project demonstrated compression of fiber-optic position data by more than 20 times while maintaining performance within the evaluated datasets. Philips said the awards were presented at ITEA PO Days 2026 in Istanbul.
