MediaTek announced the launch of its Dimensity 9600 Pro flagship smartphone chip on September 15, 2026, according to the company's press release.

New flagship smartphone chip

MediaTek said the Dimensity 9600 Pro is built on a 2nm process and uses a 2+3+3 all-big-core CPU design. The company reported a 61 percent reduction in multi-core power consumption, along with up to 17 percent higher single-core performance and up to 15 percent higher multi-core performance compared with the previous generation. MediaTek noted that the performance metrics were achieved through demonstration-device testing in its laboratories.

Second chip introduced

MediaTek also introduced the Dimensity 9600M for a broader segment of the flagship smartphone market. The company said the first smartphones powered by the Dimensity 9600 Pro and Dimensity 9600M are expected to launch in the third quarter of 2026.
