On September 14, 2026, Sullivan & Cromwell said Grupo México, S.A.B. de C.V., through its Infrastructure Division, had completed a transaction combining its power-generation assets with Saavi Energía. The law firm said Global Infrastructure Partners, a BlackRock subsidiary, owns the remaining 30 percent of the new consortium, while Grupo México owns 70 percent. The transaction brought together 14 facilities with combined installed capacity of 4,510 megawatts and a project pipeline of approximately 5,000 megawatts, according to Sullivan & Cromwell.
The transaction was described as creating a diversified private power-generation platform in Mexico. The company’s mining, transportation and infrastructure activities were also identified in the firm’s description of Grupo México.
