Google power agreement
In a September 9, 2026 stock exchange release, Fortum said it had signed a 22-year power purchase agreement with Google covering up to 50 percent of the Loviisa nuclear power plant’s capacity. The agreement will start in 2028 with a smaller capacity and reach 50 percent of the plant’s capacity in 2030–2049.
Fortum said the agreement is expected to increase the Group’s comparable return on net assets by approximately 1.4 percentage points over time once 50 percent of the plant’s generation capacity is contracted. The company also said the agreement is expected to enable a new 10-megawatt power increase in addition to a planned 38-megawatt uprate expected to be live in 2028.
Elmera tender offer
In a September 21, 2026 stock exchange release, Fortum reported that Fortum Consumer Solutions AS had received acceptances for 101,302,124 Elmera Group shares, representing approximately 88.59 percent of Elmera’s issued and outstanding share capital and voting rights, subject to customary verifications. The offer period was extended to October 2, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. CEST.
