The companies said they would jointly develop recreational off-highway vehicle products while retaining their respective brands, dealer networks, sales channels and customer relationships. The collaboration is intended to address customer needs in the utility segment of the recreational off-highway vehicle market, according to Yamaha Motor.

Bloomberg Law reported on October 7 that the Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of Agriculture had launched an inquiry into agricultural-equipment market practices. The request for information addressed complaints from farmers about barriers to acquiring equipment and services, and the report said the statement did not single out Deere or any other company as a focus. Bloomberg Law described the inquiry as covering multiple farm-equipment manufacturers.
